WHY TREAT THE WATER?

Did you know that the very ground beneath us is responsible for naturally polluting pure rain water before it settles into our underground aquifers?  Fresh rain water is one of the most naturally corrosive substances on earth.  It also picks up or accumulates many other contaminants, like pesticides and herbicides, on its way to underground water tables.  Consequently, most of America has 'hard' and undesirable water.

History teaches us that early American settlers viewed working with and using this type of water as being very difficult or 'hard'.  The term 'hard water' has stuck ever since, and today has more truth to its meaning than ever before.

Water becomes hard thru a natural ecological process which involves rain water percolating down thru the soil and bedrock layers beneath our homes.  As this water travels downward, eventually making its way into underground water tables, the water dissolves limestone and magnesium metals along the way.  In solution form, these heavy metals are then pumped up from underground aquifers, and shipped from our local wells directly to our homes.  Our M.U.D.'s (municipal utility districts) are not equipped or required to remove these naturally occurring heavy metals from the water.  This is primarily due to the fact that limestone is not classified as a health threat and is safe to consume.

What hard water does to new and existing homes is well known.  When hard water dries on fixtures, kitchen sinks, shower doors, countertops, utensils and dishware, it leaves a crusty deposit of calcium carbonate.  In the form of a circular shaped water spot, these pesky stains ruin the appearance of otherwise brand new fixtures.  Left unchecked, tiny etch marks begin to cut into these surfaces and the eventual build-up becomes so intense, that absolutely no amount of cleaning will remove them.  Typically, most homeowners are forced to replace their fixtures altogether in an effort to preserve their homes overall market value.

Other consequences of hard water include:  stubborn water rings inside of toilets, dramatically shortened water heater life, calcification of water heaters and plumbing systems, chalky white stains on brick home exteriors, drier skin conditions than normal, dry and brittle hair conditions, and the shortened lifespan of every water using appliance in the home, such as: water heater tanks, dishwashers, washing machines, icemakers, and coffee makers.

Having conditioned water immediately stops the build-up in its tracks, preserving and prolonging the lifespan of everything it touches.  That is why we are so passionate about having good water.  We know first hand how quickly limestone can damage the beauty of your home.  Hard water build-up, forces the premature replacement of expensive plumbing fixtures and appliances.  Treating your home's water supply is the best thing you can do to preserve its appearance and its long term value.

Premier home builders also understand the value of protecting their client's investment.  They too, highly recommend our quality water at the start of a new home's life.
